Our new factory in Red Hook is open!

The day has finally come; our new factory, at 64 Seabring St, Red Hook is open for business! While we’re still settling into the 3600 square foot space, in the past few weeks we’ve been able to launch two new bars and throw an incredible opening party with the help of neighborhood friends. 

The opening party was a huge success and we couldn’t have done it without the support of neighbors and friends. A huge shout out to Baked, who provided flour-less chocolate cakes made with our Vanilla Rooibos chocolate and an incredible vegan & gluten-free brownie made with our 71% Dark Sea Salt Chocolate. La Newyorkina was so gracious to cart their paletta cooler over and serve delightful coconut popsicles also dipped in our 71% Dark Sea Salt chocolate!  In celebration of all things cacao, Solbeso fixed up a Beso Fresco with their cacao pulp spirit and Runa tea, as well as a Raaka ’n’ Russian, made with 71% Sea Salt chocolate syrup, espresso and unsweetened coconut milk. Berkshire Mountain Distillers, Sixpoint Brewery and Brooklyn Soda Works rounded out our beverage provisions, lending us plenty of bourbon, beer, and apple ginger soda to keep the party going!


Of course, a party isn’t a party without some great tunes, and both Tim Fite and The Woes put on fantastic shows.  And let’s not forget our special guest, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, who led a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the night. A huge thanks to everyone who came and helped make this such a memorable evening!

Now that the factory has been given a proper initiation, we’re incredibly excited to offer tours of our factory and hands-on chocolate making classes, both of which can be booked here. Come on down to Red Hook and discover the secret of unroasted chocolate! Why not make a day out of it, stroll down Van Brunt, and visit our neighbors at Baked or Sixpoint Brewery?

Last but not least, we’ve introduced two new bars into our collection: Maple & Nibs and Lapsang Chai. Both bars got their start as subscription plan bars, where they received much love from our family of subscribers. Lapsang Chai is a smoky chocolate experience made from Lapsang Souchong tea from south-east China and our own blend of chai spices, while everyone at the Raaka factory has become addicted to the warm, toasted crunch of Maple & Nibs.
